I am the corporate communications team lead at Honda Aircraft Company. In this role, I am responsible for managing all communication between the company and media, including fielding media inquiries, proactively pitching media, distributing company announcements and press releases and developing and executing media strategies. I also support internal communication and social media efforts. I enjoy sharing my excitement about the Honda Aircraft Company brand and the HondaJet with media around the world. Additionally, no day is the same and I am continuously growing as an individual, both personally and professionally.

I received undergraduate degrees in political science and communication from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington (UNCW). Throughout my life, I have always read voraciously and closely followed local, national and international news. Due to this interest, I spent my extra time and summers in college interning for the U.S. House of Representatives and volunteering for political campaigns. Following my graduation from UNCW in 2012, I combined my personal interest, education and internship experience and joined FOX News Channel’s media relations department in New York, New York. After nearly six years in New York at FOX News Channel, my husband and I moved back home to North Carolina, specifically Greensboro. I joined Honda Aircraft Company because I wanted to work for an international company and I was excited about how the company was revolutionizing the business aviation industry.

At Honda Aircraft, I work alongside people who are passionate about creating new technologies that ultimately improve the lives of others. I believe that community involvement is a key component to personal and professional success. Greensboro’s community has a lot to offer in terms of arts, cultural experiences and volunteer opportunities. I currently am the Junior League of Greensboro’s community programs chair, am a member of the Corks for Kids Path’s host committee and volunteer regularly for Out of the Garden Project.

I also enjoy traveling to new places, playing golf, attending local galleries (GreenHill and Weatherspoon are my favorites), running/biking Greensboro’s trails and trying new restaurants. My advice to young professionals is to say yes to opportunity. In my experience, saying yes is the quickest way to learn and to gain trust and respect from your colleagues. In terms of assignments, nothing should be beneath you. If you do small things right, you will gain trust and ultimately be handed larger responsibilities. You will also earn a reputation as a reliable, efficient employee.
